About EliteMeta

EliteMeta is a Canadian education technology company developing immersive, architecturally accurate digital learning modules for universities, museums, heritage sites, cultural organizations, and professional training providers. We are moving from early product development into pilot validation and commercialization in Canada.

At this stage the company runs on informal processes, scattered records, and founder judgment. That worked while we were building. It will not work as pilots, customers, and partners multiply.

The Role

We are looking for a Business Analyst to study how EliteMeta currently works and to propose, plan, and implement improvements to our business methods, procedures, and organization.

This is an advisory and problem-solving role, not a reporting-production role. You will spend as much time interviewing the founders, mapping how work actually flows, and questioning why something is done a certain way as you will building the reports that come out the other end. You will be expected to form a view and defend it, not simply produce what you are asked for.

Main Responsibilities

Analyze business operations and managerial methods

  • Examine how EliteMeta currently organizes its work across customer development, pilot delivery, partner relationships, financial administration, and internal coordination.
  • Map existing procedures, identify duplication, bottlenecks, and gaps in accountability, and document how the business actually operates today.
  • Advise the founding team on how responsibilities, workflows, and decision points should be structured as the company grows.

Research the efficiency and effectiveness of business policies and programs

  • Assess whether current commercialization activities, outreach methods, and pilot processes are producing results proportionate to the effort and cost they consume.
  • Define practical measures of operating performance for an early-stage company and evaluate performance against them.
  • Investigate the causes behind underperforming activities and report findings with recommended courses of action.

Propose and implement improvements to methods, systems, and procedures

  • Design improved procedures for customer follow-up, pilot management, document control, financial record keeping, and recurring reporting.
  • Plan and support the reorganization of operations as new customers, partners, and staff are added.
  • Write clear procedure documentation so that methods survive staff changes and can be handed to new team members.
  • Support adoption of new procedures across the founding team and monitor whether the improvements hold.

Market, customer, and commercialization analysis

  • Conduct research on target segments including educational institutions, museums, heritage sites, cultural organizations, and professional training providers.
  • Analyze competitors, pricing approaches, and customer requirements, and advise on positioning and segment prioritization.
  • Structure and analyze the prospective customer and pilot pipeline, and recommend where the team should concentrate effort.
  • Prepare analysis and supporting material for management decisions, partner proposals, institutional discussions, and grant reporting.

Management reporting

  • Consolidate business information from spreadsheets, CRM records, forms, financial documents, and internal tools into reliable management reporting.
  • Build and maintain a monthly operating report and supporting dashboards using Excel and Power BI.
  • Verify the accuracy, completeness, and consistency of information used for management, accounting, and grant compliance purposes.

Qualifications

Required

  • A bachelor's degree in business administration, commerce, management, economics, industrial engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience in business analysis, management consulting, operations analysis, or a comparable role in which you examined how an organization worked and recommended changes.
  • Demonstrated ability to turn an unclear business problem into a defined question, an analysis, and a recommendation.
  • Strong working knowledge of Excel and at least one reporting tool such as Power BI.
  • Strong written communication, including the ability to write a recommendation that a busy founder will act on.
  • Ability to work independently with incomplete information and propose the next practical step.
  • Based in Canada and legally authorized to work in Canada.

Preferred

  • Experience supporting a startup, small business, education organization, or consulting engagement.
  • Exposure to customer discovery, institutional or public sector sales, or grant-funded programs.
  • Experience documenting business processes or preparing management reporting for a leadership team.
  • Working knowledge of data transformation or workflow automation tools.
  • Interest in education technology, immersive learning, cultural education, or professional training.

What Success Looks Like

Within three to six months, EliteMeta should have a documented picture of how the business actually operates, a set of improved procedures adopted by the founding team, a monthly operating report that management relies on, a structured and analyzed customer and pilot pipeline, and a clear recommendation on where commercialization effort should be concentrated.
